Harvey Donald “Donnie” Manning, 74, of Oblong, IL passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Heritage Health Center, Robinson, IL.  Born in Oblong, IL on August 28, 1940, he was the son of Bernadine Manning.  Donnie was married twice and both wives preceded him in death.

Donnie was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1958; was of the Christian faith; worked in the oil fields, sold insurance and was a house painter.  He was raised by Harold “Red” Ridlen, Bert Ridlen, and his grandmother.  He was very involved with Alcohol Anonymous.

Survivors include his son Harvey Donald Manning II, Salem, IL; four daughters and sons-in-law Etta and Roy Fletcher, Salem, IL; Brenda and Wally Hagler, Murphysburg, IL.; Madonna Groves, Claremont, IL and Lanee Pollard, Salem, IL; a brother and sister-in-law Richard “Dick” and Roberta “Bert” Ridlen, Oblong, IL; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews along with great nieces and great nephews.

Preceding Donnie in death were his parents; two wives Betty and Lelo; and his grandparents.
